Clinics
Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations
Please make an appointment at least 6
weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made
for certain vaccinations that are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges
is held at reception. The nurse can advise you about which vaccinations you will
need for travel abroad. Please ensure that you book a half hour appointment for
this.
Flu Vaccinations
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients
over the age of 65 or those with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and
residents of nursing and rest homes.
Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination
dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a
home visit will be arranged for the district nurses to administer the vaccination.
Non-NHS
Examinations
Medical examinations for special purposes such as pre-employment,
fitness to travel, elderly drivers, fitness to undertake sports etc, will be
provided by appointment only. There will be a charge for this service; please
ask the receptionist beforehand.
